Surely I deserve it, since I spent the entire day[1] today trying to get my kids to play[2] by themselves while I had my nose buried in the book. (Do I really need to say which book?)
I believe I did put the book completely down[3] the four or five[4]times that one or both children had some kind of upset and ran screaming to my side.
And oh yeah, it was fantastic. Best one since 3.
And oh yeah, I was tooootally right about you know, that one character.
[1] Oh, OK, only since 1 when we got back from Costco. I'd pre-ordered on amazon but I wasn't 100000% sure it would be waiting when we got back, and since they had pallets of them for $18, I just bought another copy. Of course, Amazon did deliver, and now I have two copies... anyone in the seattle area need one?
[2] play, aka "beat up on each other"
[3] <patting self on back>
[4] Actual number of times: eighty-eleventeen.
I unleashed the kids in the playroom yesterday and read down there. Luckily they entertained themselves and we did have snack & potty breaks. Even made spaghetti for supper & gave them baths. Finished The Book at 2:45 this morning.

So, your kids got to spend a few hours learning how to resolve differences independently, while also gettin a real-life role model of an adult who loves reading. Sounds like awesome parenting to me. :)

Yeah, well, you might have to get in line for that award. Who can say what it will do to these kids? They'll all secretly hate Harry.

I love fantasy books. But believe, I have yet to read one Harry Potter book (or watch it).
