While driving home from school today:
Jared: "Momma, did you see that exavator? Did you see?"
Me: "Sorry honey, I missed it."
Jared: <laughing hysterically> "That wasn't an EXAVATOR! That was a CAR!" <more giggles>
Me: "Jared, did you just make a joke?"
Jared: "What's a joke?"
Me: "It's when you say something funny."
Jared: "Like eggs? Eggs have jokes."
Good One!
The first time I heard of your blog was through my husband, who questioned what I was doing as it was different to something you had recently blogged. Needless to say I hit the roof, and there was yelling. Anyway, to cut a short story long, I calmed down enough to actually read what you write, and I love it. (Can't even remember what it was about,it was just the principal of the matter, both ways were equally valid, how dare he choose yours etc.)

Dear Margaret,
My name is Elisia and I am the editor of Printakid, a small publishing company where we create personalized books for children. I’ve been reading Cynical Mom for research for my own blog and I think it’s hilarious. I love that you find signs that say one thing but mean another like the “free children” and the stick made out of pork and turkey.
Anyway, I was wondering if you would be interested in helping me by getting the word out on my products by reviewing a book on your site. I’d like to send you a free book which will be as unique as Jared or Audrey where the hero has the same eyes, hair, skin tone, friends and family. You can see samples of our six books on www.printakid.com. I really believe in my products, so please feel free to say anything you wish about them.
The purpose of our books is to build children’s confidence as well as improve their reading skills. Currently we have been able to encompass children of several ethnic backgrounds, as well as single-parent families, adopted children and children who don’t necessarily live with their parents. We want every child to feel unique.
I would love for you to call me so we could discuss this more. I can be reached at the number below between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Eastern Standard time. Or, if you prefer, e-mail me at editor@printakid.com. Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Elisia Bargelletti
