10 days until I'm due. My doc's changed his tune - a few weeks ago he teased me with a "Hrm, based on your progress, you might go a few days to a week early". Until he'd said that, I'd just assumed I would be going to my due date and probably beyond. Then I got The Hope.
Darn him. Now he's changed his tune, he's whistling the "Last time you made it to your due date, so there's a good chance you will this time too". Why would he do such an evil thing such as get my hopes up??
I actually don't mind going to my due date too much. I just desperately do not want to be in labor or in the hospital or within 1-2 days of having given birth on Halloween. I really really really want to be there for Jared for the holiday, as I think it's one of the most fun ones of the year and I want to share it with him.
We recently carved a pumpkin. He had a blast. Well, not so much with the carving, but with the gut-scooping. As in taking guts from the pumpkin to the bowl, and then taking guts from the bowl to the pumpkin. And the requisite "pumpking tasting".
And of course, last year... we did the exact same thing. I love laying down the groundwork for a lifelong tradition. I have many happy memories of pumpkin carving growing up.

What wonderful photos. He looks like he is having so much fun.

Thanks =) It's one of those activities we can do together that I think I enjoy every bit as much as him, which is just great.

Re: you not going on Halloween.
Two years ago I was due on Nov 7 or 8. Behold, however, I have a Halloween baby getting ready to turn two. My other kids were thrilled to spend Halloween with my friend and her kids.
And I wasn't too unhappy about missing Halloween. It's so much work!! :) Esp when you're full of baby. :)
