Potter training

We went to Border's this morning to look for a few books we needed, and got to experience the Potter mania first-hand. The line to check out was huge, but for people not buying the latest book, they had a special cashier who was quite quick, so it wasn't too bad for us. I just don't understand the 'waiting in line for something cool' syndrome. I've never felt the need to be the first one to see a certain movie, the first one to read a certain book, etc - waiting in line just isn't worth it to me. We felt bad for the people who didn't reserve their copy in advance - there were no copies left for anyone who hadn't pre-ordered.

Then we went to Larry's Market to get some food for dinner. And out in front, they have a stack of about 6 copies of the book... for sale. To anyone. Even if they hadn't pre-ordered it... imagine that!

FWIW I did pre-order it myself... but just last week when I remembered it was coming, from Amazon... and supposedly it only shipped yesterday. I'm looking forward to reading it next week.

WHAT? You mean you decided you had better things to do than wait in line for a book? Yowza! What has this world come to!

Of course, my tongue is firmly planted in my cheek seeing as here it is Monday night and I have already finished readin the new Harry Potter. Dare I say I am eagerly anticipating the next one, which I know is not yet written? OK, I'm a geek. But I did NOT, repeat, did NOT wait in line.

We preordered from Amazon early enough so our delivery on saturday was guaranteed.

I just finished it... and I am also eagerly awaiting the next one, darnit! Although i'm going to have to go back and read book #5 since I don't remember much of it, since I remember when I read it - while nursing a newborn. Hah, my brain was nothing at the time =)

I'm not worried though, I believe he's alive and that the curse was a fake one.
